But feminists still aren’t going to say SHIT about Islam, are you?
Hey…it’s me the person who wrote the original tweets, a Muslim feminist as it so happens. Please don’t attempt to use CULTURAL examples of stigma surrounding divorce in order to push your Islamophobia. These particular tweets also included Catholic, Christian, Jewish women of my culture. Not to mention that this set of tweets also resonated with women of many other cultures and religions. Patriarchy and its opression is global….and not exclusive to the Muslim world. Not to mention that divorce is very much allowed in Islam and that the stigma around Muslim women does not exist in Islamic text. The issue here is cultural aspects of the way we handle and stigmatize divorce.
My mothers catholic and right now we’re in the process of trying to find her a job so she can divorce my shitty father, also Catholic. It’s not really the religion that’s the problem it’s the culture, in our case balkan culture.
I hate that specific brand of male that thinks they’re special because they’re cynical of everything. Example: the other day i met this guy for like two seconds and when i left i was like “have a nice day!” And he goes “don’t say that. I hate cliches.” Like we get it you just watched fight club calm down Tyler Durden
My husband and I are surprising our 6 year old by taking him to Disney for his b-day tomorrow. We’ve been in the car for 4+ hours and he still thinks we are on our way home from school. He keeps saying “looks like we’re almost home!” 😂
Bless his heart.
Update: we arrived to Disney World, he thinks we took a wrong turn and is very concerned about who is going to feed our cat.
